Search for a license plate map of the USA and much of what comes up is a print: a poster, a canvas, or a photo of plates arranged into the outline of the country. Those are flat pictures of plates. Ours is the real thing. Each state is hand-cut from authentic U.S. license plates, then layered and finished by hand, so you get the raised letters and numbers of a real plate, not a picture of them.
Look closely at the map in the photo and you can read plate numbers across the states, in a mix of colors and designs from plates collected all over the country. Because every state is cut from a real plate, the colors and patina vary piece to piece, and no two maps come out alike. That is the difference between wall art and a copy of it.
